Valencia Basket 3x3 to make its debut at the Phygital Games of the Future Astana 2026

Valencia Basket 3x3 will make its debut tomorrow at the Phygital Games of the Future, the world's largest phygital sports event, taking place in Astana, Kazakhstan. The taronja side will compete for the first time in a world championship featuring some of the best international teams in the discipline, having qualified by winning the Phygital Games Spain and later finishing among the top four teams at the Phygital Contenders Astana 2026.

The basketball competition will take place from July 29 to August 3 as part of an event running until August 9, bringing together multiple phygital disciplines. A total of 16 teams from around the world will compete for the title, with the tournament beginning with a group stage before moving into the knockout rounds and the final.

The Phygital Games of the Future represent a new way of experiencing sport by combining digital and physical competition within the same format. In phygital basketball, teams first compete in a video game before carrying the score over to a 3x3 basketball game, where the winner of the matchup is decided.

Valencia Basket 3x3 heads into the tournament determined to compete at the highest level in both the digital and physical stages, aiming to showcase its best performance against some of the world's top phygital basketball specialists. The taronja side will fight for the world title, fully aware of the outstanding level of a competition that brings together the elite of this emerging discipline.

The team will consist of Marcos Reos, Lu Zijie and Mohamed Hamed, who will make their tournament debut on July 29 against Boca Juniors at 11:10 p.m. (Spanish mainland time), corresponding to 2:10 p.m. in Astana. From that point on, Valencia Basket 3x3's schedule will be determined by its results throughout the competition.
